ELOG 1.0 VS NLOG 1.2

March 13, 2013

I have been very happy with our Sony NEX FS700 with the exception of some noisy shadows here and there. After reading that Noah Yuan-Vogel updated his nlog profile (PREVIOUS TEST), I decided to do another test between his new profile and a hybrid profile I created after my last test. For my test I setup 2 scenes. In each scene I test the ELOG and NLOG with cine4 and cine2 gammas. Shots 5-8 were under exposed and 9-12 were properly exposed (both shot in scene 2).

Scene 1 Settings: Nikkor 28 f2 lens @ f8, ISO640, shutter 48:
Shot 1 ELOG Cine4

Shot 2 ELOG Cine2

Shot 4 NLOG Cine2

Scene 2 Settings: Nikkor 28 f2 lens @f4, 1000ISO, shutter 48:

Shot 6 ELOG Cine2

I am just sharing my findings with you. Feel free to interpret them however you like. If you have requests or suggestions for other tests, please email me at eric@aumenmedia.com.

Jason Roth Triathlete Teaser

March 12, 2013

JRthumbWe are filming a documentary following the training, hard work, and commitment of triathlete, Jason Roth, as he pushes towards his goal of competing in triathlons at the national level. We met Jason on facebook when we reached out to our friends to see if anyone knew any local cyclists or triathletes. A friend of ours quickly linked us to Jason Roth. Jason’s schedule is split between his wife, two dogs, full time job, and intense training regimen. He writes a really insightful blog on what its like juggling all the different aspects of a triathletes life called, Living a Triple Life. We met and discussed where he is at in his career, and he told us that this might be the year he steps up to national level competition. The Tricolumbia race on May, 19th will be his chance to make that step forward if he finishes in the top 3. We will keep you updated with screen shots, BTS, and more posts as we document his journey. Please enjoy this teaser film we shot in his basement during a stationary bike session.

Eric Willis: Tattoo Artist Micro-Doc

February 1, 2013

Page3 Willis has been a friend of our family for quite some time now. He’s tattooed both of us, and we’re huge fans of his work. When our sister Vanessa and her husband Mitch came home from San Diego this winter wanting tattoos, they already had it planned out who they’d be going to see. Willis is certainly a unique individual who can keep a room full of people entertained while at the same time creating a masterpiece of a tattoo. His integration of light into his work is one of the things I find most impressive, as he doesn’t just envision what the subject would look like, but how the light would play into and off of it. When Vanessa and Mitch went in to get tattooed, we tagged along to get some footage of the man at work, and wired him up for a quick interview!

As always thanks for watching!

Artistic Imagery and Cescaphe VIE

December 11, 2012

AIimageAs a small business, it is crucial to advertise and market yourself to compete against bigger businesses that threaten you with super low prices. When a big business bullies a small company into folding, it isn’t because they have an inferior product in most cases. It’s because the potential customers were not made aware of the care, thought, and quality that goes into a product that spawns from a small business.
Artistic Imagery continues to take steps to make sure their potential clients know the high quality and care they can expect when hiring Artistic. They hired us to tell their story, specifically highlighting their Concierge Photographers. We had a blast spending the day with their photographers, Beth and Alex. They really are amazing at capturing the day, handling a huge wedding party, and making sure the couple had a great day! Please check out our mini documentary spotlighting Artistic Imagery’s Concierge Photographers.

While we were filming the spotlight for AI, we grabbed some shots of the amazing reception venue, VIE (owned by Cescaphe Event Group). This places is a gorgeous high end wedding destination that is about 1 year old to the Philadelphia area. Hopefully we will be able to work with them to highlight their other venues as well.
